Bed and Breakfast at Lawrences Farm, Dorset
Bed and Breakfast at Lawrences Farm is the perfect base for exploring Dorset and the Jurassic Coastal area.
Tolpuddle is situated in central south Dorset, only 20 minutes from the coast and in the heart of the Wessex countryside so beautifully described by Thomas Hardy in his novels and short stories.
Lawrences Farm is no longer a farm! Although it retains about 60 acres of land, mostly watermeadows either side of the charming river Piddle, two whippets and a couple of connemara ponies are the only animals you will meet!
There are three B&B rooms, one in the farmhouse and one in each annexe.
The double bedroom and bathroom in the farmhouse is in an entirely separate wing with ite own entrance and staircase. Close to the farmhouse are the two separate annexes, one a conversion of a small period barn boasting handsome beams. It has twin beds and an ensuite shower room the other a recent addition which has a double bed and a single bed with an ensuite bathroom.
All our rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and colour TVs. Breakfast is served in the farmhouse dining room.
Mill Cottage has accommodation for ten guests in 5 bedrooms each with its own bathroom. It is ideal for adults and older children but is not toddler friendly, particularly because of the large and unfenced river frontage.
Briantspuddle is a small village lying in the River Piddle Valley next to Affpuddle and Tolpuddle. The village lies within the Purbeck conservation area and is stunningly beautiful. The area is hilly and heavily wooded. The Purbecks themselves are renowned for their beauty and the Dorset Coast between Poole and Lyme Regis is a World Heritage site (The Jurassic Coast).
