Fly Fishing Tuition Courses - Objectives
To establish a friendly yet purposeful atmosphere, which makes learning a pleasure, and to achieve a sensible balance between periods of intensive instruction and relaxed fishing, thus maximizing progress and minimising fatigue.
Unaccompanied fishing after 4.30 pm is included in the course fees for courses 1 to 3; you are encouraged to consider these sessions on our lakes or rivers as a chance to practice at your own pace.
- "Beginners Day One" develops the basic skills as quickly as possible.
- "Beginners Day Two" building on this solid foundation.
Tuition at Wessex is an ideal preparation for the wonderfully varied fishing available throughout the British Isles and indeed further afield (e.g. Alaska, Russia and South America). For example, learning to Spey cast before a salmon fishing trip is invaluable; Tony and Richard fish regularly in Scotland and Wales and know very well that the ability to Spey cast is essential on many beats.
To guarantee plenty of individual attention we do not take more than four people on our Beginners courses and two on our other courses. The only exception we make to this rule is for group bookings.
